City hotels a short walk from the stadium, beach resorts on the Mandalika coast, rice-field villas near the marathon route, or a village homestay beside the river where the longboats race: pick the area first, then the type of stay.

Stay along Jalan Sudirman or in the SCBD and Senayan districts and you can walk or take a short MRT ride to the Gelora Bung Karno complex, home of Timnas matches and the Indonesia Open. Business hotels of every class, malls and restaurants are all within reach.
Jakarta International Stadium sits in Tanjung Priok in the north of the city. Kelapa Gading and the Ancol waterfront are the closest hotel clusters; from central Jakarta allow an hour by road on match days.
Kuta Mandalika is the closest base to the circuit, with resorts inside the Special Economic Zone and guesthouses in the village. Senggigi on the west coast and Mataram are about an hour away and have more rooms. The Gili islands are a boat ride further and better for the days around the race than for race day itself.
The race starts and finishes in Gianyar regency. Ubud and the villages around it put you among the rice terraces on the course; Sanur on the coast is calmer than Kuta and about 40 minutes from the start.
Stay in Magelang or the villages around the temple for an early start on race morning, or in Yogyakarta, about an hour and a half away, for the widest choice of hotels and the city's food and heritage.
Teluk Kuantan is a small town and hotel rooms are few during festival week in August. Homestays run by local families are the norm and part of the experience; arrange them early through the regency tourism office or a local operator.
Madura is reached from Surabaya across the Suramadu bridge, so many visitors stay in Surabaya and make a day trip to the race towns of Bangkalan, Sampang and Pamekasan, which have a smaller choice of local hotels.
For Bandung Run, stay around the city centre and the art-deco streets of Braga, or in the Dago hills for cooler air. The Whoosh train makes Bandung an easy add-on to a Jakarta trip.
Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, Yogyakarta and Bandung have international and Indonesian hotel chains at every price point, most of them used to hosting teams and event delegations.
Private villas with pools are the signature of Bali and increasingly of south Lombok, and suit groups of runners or supporters travelling together. Resorts inside the Mandalika zone are the closest beds to the circuit.
Indonesia's tourism-village programme lists thousands of desa wisata through the Ministry of Tourism's Jadesta network (6,016 villages took part in its 2024 awards). Homestays there are the way to experience Pacu Jalur, Karapan Sapi or Nias stone jumping as a guest of the community.
